The district is proud to announce that Malverne High School has been recognized with two prestigious awards by the College Board’s Advanced Placement program.

The school was named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll, earning a silver distinction. The AP Honor Roll recognizes high schools who have made enrolling in college-level courses a natural part of their culture. Only 9% of eligible schools nationally and globally received this recognition. For a school to be recognized, they must have a minimum of 40% of the graduating class enrolled in an Advanced Placement course with no less than 25% of those students scoring a 3 or higher on the exam. Malverne boasted 62% of the students in the Class of 2023 completed at least one Advanced Placement course, with 39% of those students scoring a 3 or higher on an exam during high school. These percentages are more than 10% higher than both the New York and global averages.

Malverne High School was also the recipient of the AP Access Award. This award is bestowed upon schools if the percentage of AP exam test takers who are underrepresented minority and/or low-income students mirrors the school’s overall student demographics. “This is an award that Malverne is very proud of,” said principal Ms. Bascombe. “Our diversity is our strength, and this recognition is a testament to the inclusive spirit that defines Malverne High School.”
